How to pick a random order without repeats

For a speaking order or a rotation of tasks, you usually want each entry to appear once. WordFinderHub can remove a selected line after each draw. The important detail is that it removes a line, not every matching name, so your starting list determines whether people can repeat.

Prepare one line for each participant

Enter each participant once, with a line break between entries. If two different people share a name, distinguish them with initials or another clear label, such as Alex P and Alex R. Do not combine everyone on one comma-separated line: that would be one entry, not several.

Blank lines are ignored and spaces at the edges of a line are trimmed. Duplicate names are not automatically merged. Before drawing, scan the list and check that the entry counter matches the number of people you intend to include.

Build a four-person speaking order

1. Open Random Picker and enter Alex, Jordan, Morgan and Taylor on four separate lines.
2. Turn on Remove selected item after each pick before starting.
3. Choose Pick Randomly and wait for the selected result. Write it in position one of your order.
4. Check that three entries remain, then choose Pick Again. Record the second result and repeat for position three.
5. When only one entry remains, place that entry last. The picker requires at least two entries for another draw; it does not need to select between one remaining option and itself.

The resulting order might begin with any participant. Each draw uses the remaining pool; the removal setting is what prevents the same line from being available again.

Why a name can still repeat

Suppose your list contains Alex, Alex and Jordan. If an Alex line wins and is removed, the other Alex line remains eligible. That is expected behavior, not a failed removal. If you want one chance per person, clean the list first. If repeated entries represent intentional extra chances, agree on whether the rule allows that person to be selected again.

Record the order as you go

The page shows the current selection, not a saved history of every draw. Copy Winner copies the latest winner when your browser permits clipboard access. Paste each name into a separate note, or write it down. Copying a later winner replaces the clipboard contents, so the clipboard alone is not an order log.

Keep your original roster separately if you will need it again. Reset clears the picker, and refreshing does not provide a saved WordFinderHub session to restore. The site does not keep an account-based list or a draw archive.

Keep the pool steady during a draw

Let the reveal finish before changing the text, resetting the tool or starting another pick. This keeps the visible list and the draw you are recording aligned. For a new round, restore the full original list rather than adding back only the last selected entry.

Choose the right repeat rule

For one complete speaking order, use unique entries and removal. For repeated independent choices, leave removal off so every draw uses the unchanged list. Randomness alone does not rotate people evenly across separate rounds; if equal participation over time is the goal, keep a record of completed turns.
